| History of our Buffalo Cursillo
The Cursillo Movement is a movement within the Catholic Church. Cursillo is often associated with its important three day weekend. But there is much more than the three day weekend in our warm Cursillo community. The movement started in 1940, in Spain to bring the young men to know our Christ better. They had been working to bring men to Christ, so they could then work together and Christianize the world. The first Cursillo weekend in the USA was held in Texas in 1957 when Spanish pilots were training at an Air Force Base In 1962 Cursillo began to blossom in the US Church. We are proud that as of the year-2000, over 600 Dioceses of the US Catholic Church have an active Cursillo Community. A Men's Weekend is separate from a Women's Weekend in order to experienced Cursillo at its best. To locate Cursillo in other Dioceses : <"http://cursillos.ca/en/liens/cur-cath1.htm#amnord "> In 1965, Lou & Liz Pauly introduce it into the Buffalo Diocese. We have held about 200 weekends; about 2,500 women, 2,300 men, 75 Priest, 50 Deacons and 200 Sisters have made the weekend. Most of the parishes in our Diocese have Cursillistas, and those in you parish would love to tell you more about Cursillo. Parish Mission in our Diocese was written and started by the Cursillo Community. Many who are active in their parish, and have already made a Mission; often through their prayers, decide to go further in their spiritual life, and make their Cursillo. If you would like someone in the Cursillo Community to tell you more, we would love to, or we can give you the names of Cursillos in your own parish -- ( Also when you give us your name & parish, please give us your Town, too, because there are more than one parish with the same name in our Diocese) click on: <"buffalocursillo@att.net">
